South Lake Tahoe was a stop on a family vacation that included Sacramento. We found little Eagle Lake just by driving around. We went hiking on a very flat two mile trail. The breathtaking views of Emerald Bay and Lake Tahoe were amazing. This would have been more challenging should we have crossed the steel footbridge at Eagle Falls,and continue on through the desolation wilderness. The terrain varies from steep sections to flat trails on this beautiful hike through dense sections of forest.
